Collective Organizing
Civil stewards understand how collective organizing empowers people to make change.
What You Can Do
Understanding what collective organizing is and how you can participate is an important step in entering spaces where the work has been going on for centuries. Learn about significant organizing efforts and get a sense of what participation might look like for you.
People have been organizing for a very long time, especially people who have long experienced marginalization and oppression due to their identities and/or abilities. Take care to learn and understand who is already working in the spaces important to you and step gently into spaces prepared to listen and learn.
Learn
The history of organizing: its methods, goals, and outcomes is far longer and more complicated than reductive narratives might lead you to believe. Be sure to look behind polarizing soundbites to ensure you really understand what organizing efforts aim to achieve and whom they organize on behalf of.
